Looking like DJ will get a 1 year deal deal soon....

Thats probably about right for him.  I think he will always be who he is now.  A guy who makes big plays from time to time, then disappears for weeks.

They aren't deep enough at LB to lose him. So I'm good with a one year deal.

Chiefs sign Derrick Johnson
The Chiefs announced that linebacker Derrick Johnson has signed an restricted free agent tender.

The club also signed offensive lineman Ikechuku Ndukwe to a tender.

Johnson, the club's first-round draft pick in 2005, would have been an unrestricted free agent this year, but the uncapped season made him a restricted free agent.

Johnson lost his starting position last season, playing in mostly nickel situations. But he finished the season with a flourish, returning both an interception and a fumble for touchdowns in the regular-season finale victory at Denver.

Ndukwe was acquired in a trade with Miami during training camp last season and played sparingly with the Chiefs.

McNabb headed to Washington

The Philadelphia Eagles have reached agreement on a blockbuster intra-division trade that will send perennial Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb to the Washington Redskins, according to multiple sources close to the situation.

The two sides still must finalize language, but McNabb is now headed to Washington. Compensation is not yet known, but it is likely to include Washington's 2010 second-round pick.

The move means the Redskins now have a new starting quarterback and the Eagles have a new one as well in Kevin Kolb. Michael Vick is now in line as the team's backup.

Sources said McNabb's contract, which has one year and $11.2 million left on it, scared off several other teams. McNabb is due a $6.2 million roster bonus on May 5 and is scheduled to become a free agent after the 2010 season.

At the league meetings, head coach Andy Reid said the Eagles were listening to offers for all three quarterbacks, including 11-year veteran McNabb, who quickly said on his Web site that he wanted a quick resolution to the trade conversations.

Despite what the idiots at CP say, this move is a clear sign that Shanahan did not believe that Clausen is a franchise qb.

I am sure that Washington, KC, and seatle would all prefer to trade down, but I dont see anyone that any team would be willing to trade up for.

or they believe that they aldready have their franchise qb.

Cassel's contract is set up such that the chiefs can walk away after the 2nd yr. If Cassel fails this yr, then the chiefs will be in a position to pickup a franchise qb in next yrs draft (which is supposed to be much deeper at the qb position).

This should be a very interesting draft.  Should tell us alot about what the current regime thinks of certain players.

Hahahaha.  The Broncos just can't keep talent.  That's worse than not being able to get it.
