I am happy with the Croyle deal, but the others not so much. WTF is it with Niswanger, what could they possibly see in him?

Niswanger might just be camp competition or a camp body.

Tedd Ginn traded to 49ers.

The 49ers will send a fifth-round pick in this year's draft to Miami, a league source confirmed to ESPN.com's Mike Sando.

that sounds like a steal for the 49ers

Ginn will never live up to where he was drafted, but worth a 5th without a doubt.

Brian Cushing was suspended for 4 games for testing positive to a banned substance. Rumours have been rampant for yrs that he uses steroids.

According to him, "I was substance-tested randomly by the NFL during the 2009 season. The results of those tests indicated the presence of a non-steroidal banned substance. The league acted to suspend me based on those results, which I challenged in my appeal of the suspension. I believe we presented compelling evidence during the appeal process to challenge the test results, and I disagree with and am disappointed by the suspension."

Cushing's test was positive for elevated levels of hCG, the source familiar with the case told Schefter. Cushing said he took the substance during September, the first month of the 2009 schedule. Although Cushing said his positive test was not for a steroid-related substance, the positive test was for something that was considered performance enhancing.

Steelers  wide receiver [Bust] Limas Sweed has been placed on the injured reserve list because of a torn left Achilles tendon, a move that means he cannot play this season.

Two players picked in Supplemental Draft..

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/07/15/two-players-picked-in-supplemental-draft/

The 2010 Supplemental Draft has come and gone.  If you were out to lunch, you missed all of it.

In lieu of a three-night extravaganza, the Supplemental Draft wrapped up in less than 80 minutes.

In the end, only two players were picked:  running back Harvey Unga by the Bears, and defensive tackle Josh Price-Brent by the Cowboys.  Both Chicago and Dallas will forfeit seventh-round picks in the 2011 draft.

The Bears had the 12th pick in each round; the Cowboys had the 30th.  If Dallas hadn't picked Price-Brent, there's a good chance he wouldn't have been picked at all.

Fullback Vaness Emokpae and running back Quentin Castille were not drafted.  They now become unrestricted free agents.
