Solid signing.  Nice 1/2 punch with Charles.  Has potential for 2000 yard rushing offense between them...but I see jones only getting 100 to 150 carries.....who know?

Chiefs sign Casey Wiegmann.

Too bad its not 2002...

I hear Tait, Roaf and Shields are available too!

If this means no more Rudy then I guess it's a good thing.

I can clearly remember when Wiegmann signed with Denver their were articles (direct quotes) of him saying that he mentally "checked-out" in his last season with the chiefs and that he was happy to leave. I can understand how bad it must have been after being with Vermiel and then going to Herm's r2p2 scheme. That being said he pretty much admitted to "quitting" on the team.

I am having trouble finding those articles (with wiegman saying he quit). Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I could still picture the interior of that line collapsing regardless.

I wish they would just leave Albert where he is, LT, and let him play. If they draft Okung, it will drop them down another notch on my "give a ****" barometer.

They would have to be the only team, EVER, to have 3 top 5 picks in a row, and not draft a single impact player, let alone a QB.

hopefully he passed his physical.

I am not too thrilled about having an undersized Wiegmann and Lilja manning the interior.

Its obvious they are wanting to go back to the Vermeil type sweep runs outside the tackle.  Makes sense for a back like Charles.

At least we know Weigmann and Lilja can play...unlike the guys last year.

If they draft Okung, this line will be rock solid.

sweeps and screens are great if they can contain. The problem last yr was that the interior of the line would get thrown back into the qb or ball carrier.

Further, a "finesse" line can do fine between the 20s, but I dont see how this will help in the redzone when it takes strength in the trenches to just gain inches.

Isnt that why they aquired Jones?  Hes been money in the red zone the past couple of years.

there are very few rbs that I can think of that can "create" something from nothing (barry sanders and marcus were 2 of the best).

I dont think that TJ is the type of back that can create yrds when the offensive line is thrown back.
