I don’t typically toot my own horn like this,
« on: May 18, 2010, 09:41:11 AM »
But I’m particularly proud of myself this morning.
See, I’ve been dieting.  I got to a little over 270 and was just uncomfortable with it.  Really, my belly was getting in the way of my wrenching so something had to go, the belly or the wrenching and I’m not about to give up my alone, quiet time, stress reliever.
I’ve been at it for a few months now and this morning I weighed myself at 248, first time I’ve been under 250 in a few years.  Basically since my boy was born, now that I think of it.
The way I figure it, when I was in the Army running 3-5 miles 4 days a week and didn’t pay a lick of attention to what I ate I maintained a weight right around, or a little over, 220 so my goal here is to get under 230 again.  Obviously I still have a ways to go, but this morning I’m feeling pretty good about it and that goal looks just a little bit more obtainable.

Congratulations bud.  Keep up the good work.  My fat ass needs to follow suit.

Good job Lee, keep after it! You have had a lot going on, with the move and cam problems.

Just this morning, I had to have the Mrs. get my "fat pants" back out of the ceder chest. (40 waist)

I was doing really well myself, down to 215, and got off the routine/schedule since Mom passed. Been eating and drinking my ass on. Now back up to 235, so it has to turn around and get back after it.
The hard part, it took a year of excercise and eating right to lose the 20 lbs, now it has taken 2 1/2 months to get it back.

Congrats.  It's a tough thing to do.

I've been trying to drop weight again.  I've been hovering around 232 for a couple of weeks and was getting pretty discouraged, so I started tracking my body fat percentage too and found out that I'm losing fat, just not weight.

Thanks guys, the encouragement helps.  Really.

I hear yea, I’ve hit plateaus where I didn’t seem to be losing any weight but my waist was still getting slimmer.
What kind of diet are you doing anyway?

I'm just tracking my calories in/out very carefully.  I'm using http://www.sparkpeople.com/.  It's free, their web site is easy to use, but the clincher for me was they have an app for my Android phone.  It will do all kinds of crazy stuff like giving you a meal plan and recipes, etc. that I don't use.

Heh, true.  Just ask Mrs. Radar, she’ll tell you I’m black from the waist down.

If I ever found myself in a place that I would ask that question to anyone about anyone I would deserve to have to deal with the answer.

So this week I actually gained a pound, but I'm down a size in jeans.  Just goes to show that weight isn't everything.  Track that body fat percentage, too.
